Film Catering

Off The Shelf catering truck parked in downtown Los Angeles near a film production location

ON-SET SINCE 2003

Off The Shelf has been catering film productions across Los Angeles since 2003. From independent features to studio productions, our truck and crew show up on location ready to feed the full cast and crew, with fresh, seasonal menus for breakfast and lunch built around each production’s shooting schedule. Over more than 20 years on set, we’ve learned how to keep a film crew fed and on time, day after day, from the first table read to the final wrap.

SOME OF THE PRODUCTIONS WE’VE CATERED FOR

Downsizing · Wet Hot American Summer · Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close · Inherent Vice · It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia · South Park · 30 Rock · Young Sheldon · Black-ish · NBC Olympics

MEAL SERVICE, BUILT AROUND YOUR SCHEDULE

Most film productions book us for breakfast and lunch, though we can run a lunch and dinner schedule for shoots that start later in the day, night exteriors, and anything the call sheet throws at us. Breakfast is served short-order style straight off the truck, so cast and crew eat what they want when they hit set, instead of working around a fixed buffet window before the first shot of the day.

Once you’re booked, you’re paired with one of our chefs to build a menu around your production. Vegan options and accommodations for special dietary needs and requests are part of that process from the start, not something bolted on after the fact.

We work across Los Angeles-area soundstages, backlots, and practical locations, and the same truck and crew that show up for a multi-week feature schedule show up just as ready for a single-day pickup shoot. Whether it’s a lean independent crew or a full studio production running multiple departments off one call sheet, the goal is the same: everyone eats well and gets back to work on time.
